Liquefied Natural Gas Logistics Management Through Optimal Road-Rail Intermodal Logistics Planning Considering Community Safety

چکیده

The demand for natural gas (NG) in Thailand has been continuously increasing, but part of NG volume not distributed to customers locating far from the pipeline network. Therefore, is transported by trucks liquid form called liquefied (LNG) meet demand. However, road transportation truck causes many problems such as high cost, low capacity, poor environmental conditions, and safety. To solve these problems, road-rail intermodal an option distribute a large LNG long-haul more efficiently. This research proposes optimal planning logistics management case study where problem modeled mixed-integer nonlinear program minimize total cost. solution includes distribution center locations, mode(s), train loading service type, type. Community safety using damage radius criterion considered model constraint. solutions resulting three scenarios are compared discussed.

Intermodal Terminals, Mega Ports and Mega Logistics

Economic globalization has been accompanied by a growing spatial imprint of freight distribution on the landscape, particularly for intermodal terminals such as ports, airports and railyards, but also for logistical activities, namely distribution centers. Economies that have relied on globalization to promote growth, China been the most eloquent example, have relied extensively on major interm...

Architecture of Intelligent Intermodal Logistics Centres

The purpose of this research and development project is to construct the foundations of a logistics IT centre with a universal and intermodal character, i.e., covering all modes of transportation and corresponding central functions related to warehouses and container terminals. Through its modular structure it is applicable to arbitrary concrete site dependent needs. It also contains intelligen...

Global Logistics Road Planning: A Genetic Algorithm Approach

Logistics transportation between two countries presents some special challenges and issues for business organizations, because of the cost differentials between two countries regarding transporting, staffing, warehousing, etc. In this study, we consider a logistics problem experienced by a producer of electrical equipment, which needs to transport their products, which are produced in Mainland ...

Business logistics and logistics engineering: the rocky road to a unified science of logistics

A ‘‘science of logistics’’: Is there any? And if so, is there one—or two, or even several? To answer these questions is not easy. We know that different members of the large worldwide logistics community (which certainly does exist) would have very different views. When we started this journal, one of our assumptions was that definitely there should be a unified ‘‘science of logistics’’! We mad...

Optimal Solutions to Large Logistics Planning Domain Problems

We propose techniques for efficiently determining optimal solutions to large logistics planning domain problems. We map a problem instance to a directed graph and show that no more than one vehicle per weakly connected component of the graph is needed for an optimal solution. We propose techniques for efficiently finding the vehicles which must be employed for an optimal solution. Also we devel...
